Annual
Congregational Business Meeting
, 6:00pm |
|
Esbats
- We hold esbats centered around
the moon in various phases to
honor the Goddess and to work
magick. These gatherings are
also a time of fellowship and
social bonding. Esbats are
typically held at the church's
rustic site on Hollis road in
Ellenboro.
|
|
Business
Meetings - Business
meetings give members a chance
to be part of the church's
decision making process.
Typical agenda items include
scheduling and budgeting for
rituals and other special
events. We sometimes hold our
business meetings online,
using Zoom.
|
|
Highway
Cleanup - Our church
participates in the NC "Adopt A
Highway" program. We are
responsible for a 2 mile section
of street extending from highway
74, just in front of the Walmart
turn-in, down Dekalb St to just
in front of the hospital.
|
|
Wicca
Wednesday - The
church holds a monthly Wiccan
discussion group on the first
Wednesday of each month. We meet
at Lily Bean Coffee on Warren St
in Shelby, NC. The meetings
start at 6:00pm and are open to
the public. Each month we
feature a different Wiccan topic
of interest. Non-Wiccans are
welcome to attend and contribute
to discussions, of course. These
meetings are not intended as a
forum for debating the merits of
Wicca itself, however, and
disruptive individuals will be
asked to leave.

|
Wicca
Wednesday Online-
An online version of the
church's Wicca Wednesday
discussion meet up. Meetings are
held over the Zoom platform.
|
|
Samhain
Shindig - Each
year, before Samhain, we like
to have a little social
gathering as an opportunity to
have fun and fellowship with
our church family. This is a
BYOB costume party with
appetizers and snacks.
|
|
Samhain
- Samhain is the
time of year when the veil
between worlds is thinnest. It
is a time of honoring
anscestors and friends who
have passed. We usually mark
the occasion by enacting the
descent of the Goddess.
|
|
Friendsgiving
- A festive
gathering of chosen family.
Come share a meal and spend
some quality time with people
who accept you. Also, there
will be pie.
|
|
Yule Vigil - Yule, or
Midwinter, is the longest
night of the year, but the
solstice is also the time when
the sun's progress shifts from
waning to waxing. We will be
celebrating the rebirth of
light by holding a vigil
throughout the long night. We
will light our fire as the sun
goes down and we'll tend it
until the sun returns the next
morning. This act of
sympathetic magick echoes the
sacred rites of our
anscestors. During our vigil,
we will share food and cheer,
as we wait for the first dawn
of the waxing year.
|
|
Congregational
Business Meeting -
Our annual Congregational
Business Meeting is open to all
church members. It is our most
important business meeting of
the year. We'll be electing
officers and committe chairs,
hearing comittee reports, and
setting NCPCOW's event schedule
for the next calendar year.
Please take this opportunity to
contribute to the church's
decision making process.
|
|
Hollis
Road Site - The
church holds most of our
rituals at a rustic wooded
site on Hollis Road, between
Ellenboro and Polkville. The
site has limited parking and
very primitive amenities. Our
rituals are held out of doors
and there is currenlty no
permanent structure on the
property. Please dress in
weather-appropriate clothing,
including sensible footwear.
If possible, please also bring
your own folding camp chair.
In warm weather, you may also
wish to bring something to
wear into the creek.
Directions to the site are
available through Google
Maps.
